I have managed to finish this block against all odds........with Christmas and several pairs of ballet shoes needing paint before the concert this weekend...!!!!!!!

I had some fun with this block. To make the border a bit more interesting I 'fussy cut' the flowers for each corner........

I was putting this one off - 89 pieces and using paper-piecing!!! Scary. Anyway, now school is over for the year I thought I'd do this one today (should be xmas shopping!!)

Block 19 - HALFWAY!!!!

Well,,,,,,,,this is a milestone block. I have done 49 blocks and have 49 to go, so officially 1/2 way!!! This was a nice easy one too.

Another easy one today - just the thing when stuck home with a cold (and Summer starts tomorrow!!!)

I had fun with this one - lots of little pieces. After block 54 I decided to do the centre diamond first, so did all the square in a square blocks first and joined them as a 9 patch. Then I worked the 4 triangle sections, before joining them to the centre diamond.

This was a quick and easy one.......to give my brain a break!!!!

I am glad I knew to re-draw the centre section before I began this one!!!!!

For this block I used 2 different Liberty fabrics. I love the one with the birds and set it off with the floral.

This was a quick and easy one and I fussy cut the flowers in the centre block to make it interesting. Fun!

Was driving past my favourite fabric shop today and thought I'd pay a visit. Found lots of Liberty off cuts so added to my Nearly Insane stash. Here is a pretty pansy one. Inspiration for the dotty edges is from 'Quiltperikelen', one of the other insane crew following the 'Nearly Insane Quilts' blog.

Here is the latest one...............quite like it. Thank goodness I was warned that the outside 1/2 square triangles are NOT all squares!!! I still had fun trying to match up my stripes!!!

This one has some fabric from the quilt my 12 year old daughter is making (fabric we bought in San Francisco last year). I like to tie fabrics from my quilts together wherever possible.

Well.......there's nothing like a family party in the country to get a few blocks done!! A 6 1/2 hour car trip on straight roads is the perfect place to stitch!! 2 blocks on the way there and 2 on the way back!!! Here's the result..........

Well after a couple of weeks away in the sunshine of FNQ I have made a start again!! This time it was block 42 - and my first attempt at paper piecing!!! Quite tricky at first till I got the hang of it and the edges all do seem to meet.

Here is another edge block. The colours really do vary in the photos. This is the same fabric I used in Blocks 21. 56 & 67! Anyway, that's it for 2 weeks..............sun here we come!!

This was a fun one and not too hard. If this gloomy weather keeps up I will be finished in no time!!!

Making the most of this gloomy day! Yes.........another block. This time an edge block. Tricky doing the 1/4 inch seam allowance, but worth it I think. Looks like this one has 1/2 inch allowance. Oh. well.....can cut it off later!

Well what better thing to do but another block on Fathers' Day!!! My husband took my daughter to her ballet rehearsal this morning so couldn't wait to get started.......and here it is a few short hours later. P.S. He is now painting the front fence!!!!!!! Go figure!

Well.......an easy one this time, and very different from the others! I should be photographing these all during the day - the colours are not quite right when I take the photos at night - even with a flash. Oh well, guess you get the picture!!

Well, this one was a lot easier!!!! AND the sun is shinning - think I might go and start another one - celebration of Spring!!!

OK!! Now I know why this is called Nearly Insane!!! This one took me several days. I tried paper piecing, but didn't get the technique quite right!! Better luck next time. I am now having a break for a couple of days to unscramble my brain and will ease back in with a simple one next week.

Today I went to my favourite fabric store in search of some more mauve fabrics. I found a tiny piece of Liberty which was enough for a border, as well as this cute spot. Raced home to piece it together!!

Well, I have now completed all the blocks the NI crew completed in 2008. This one was not difficult but took a while (65 pieces). Not looking forward to the one with over 200!!!!

This was a fun one to do ....... and easy!! Whipped it up really quickly.

This one was time consuming but not too tricky!! Had fun with the colours.

Well.........this one looked easy, but put me to the test!!! I should have done the 5 'square in a square' sections and cut the side panels without the angle and it would have been MUCH easier. Had terrible trouble getting all my corners to meet correctly. Hope the next one is easier!

This took a bit longer and I took NIQ advice and added the border strips last. My handle is a bit 'wonky' though. Never been keen on appliqué.

Well, I started off doing this block this afternoon and used the Fast Flying Geese method (which I am loving!!), however I seemed to have misread the instructions and ended up with 8 Flying Geese units!! OOps! I looked at the Nearly Insane Blog and discovered that the next block has Flying Geese too. So, I ended up doing 2 blocks today!!

Now I know I am nearly insane!

Well, after a busy weekend I have finished this block. Not very difficult and ready to start the next one!!
